[from ~burning woman~ by Sha’Tara]
Suddenly,
It was sadness,
A sadness so deep
I peered down it’s well:
There was no bottom there.
I stopped to think,
To scratch my head;
To wonder at this feeling
And asked, what is this I feel?
‘Tis but the world
resting its tired head
upon your firm shoulders
For a few moments of respite.
Why mine?
I thought to ask,
Looking for a reason
A particular worthy reason.
Why not?
A tired world
Cannot be particular:
You were there, convenient,
Simply available – repeat: why not?
That’s it?
I was just there?
No more to it than that?
No meaning other than that?
There is none,
Why should there be?
But if you want more to it
No one stops you from walking,
Carrying the load, making it your own.
Oh my. 💕

Hah! My “sediments” exactly. But “the Teachers” don’t usually waste time joking around. I guess if you want to be an avatar, there is a price to pay. The sadness though, will pass, it’s just like a giant, unexpected wave. Ride it, surf it… whatever, just don’t let it swallow you up.

“Why not?” – beautiful!! I needed to be reminded of this, my friend, as well as the choice to carry it forward or not. Brilliant, succinct, and perfectly timed… Thank you!

Thanks for your comment, Lisa. The sadness remains today: I guess I’ve made my choice.

The more shoulders bearing the burden, the lighter it becomes.

Thanks for the comment, Rosaliene. Yes, but the trick is to never count on “the others” to be there. Again: self-choice and self-empowerment. The lesson in the twelve labours of Herakles illustrates this truth: that a change-agent works alone. That may well be the most crucial lesson that Earthians will likely never understand, so brainwashed are they in believing that power resides in numbers. Numbers weaken commitment and all power for change resides in commitment to one purpose.

Thought-inciting (and sad too, in my opinion) as always. Good writing and sharing. I see your nemesis in the fourth verse. (wink)

Thanks for the comment, Regis. The world has given me a sense of being old, and tired, lately. It’s the kind of feeling one learns to expect during times of change towards dying rather than rejuvenating. I believe that man and his society have arrived at the winter of their discontent; that those in power will do anything, however corrupt and destructive, to no only maintain that power, but increase it, thus unleashing the final event: the almost total collapse of this civilization.
